My name is Luke Rainbow, and I grew up in Golden Valley, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota.      I recommitted my life to the Lord at a Maranatha Church Service, while I was still a student at the University of Minnesota (I graduated in 1996 with a Communications Degree).  I have had a heart for campus missions ever since, and have trained and labored with the campus ministers from Campus Missions International (Maranatha Church is part of this) for eight years.  In 1997 I assisted Dean Bonde, as he pioneered the ministry at St. Cloud State University.  We worked in conjunction with a local church in St. Cloud, Cornerstone Church, which is pastored by Brian Blauer.  Three years ago, I was sent out by Maranatha to St. Cloud to take over the ministry with my wife.

My wife Sharlene grew up in Owen , Wisconsin.  She was saved when her manager shared the gospel with her.  She attended college at St. Cloud State University.  She came to the campus, hungry for the Lord and amazed at all the philosophies that exalted themselves against God’s word.  She had a passion for sharing truth with her fellow classmates.  Shar was one of the first students we met when the ministry at SCSU was started.  After she completed her 2 year Associate of Arts Degree, she pursued training with Maranatha and Cornerstone Church of St. Cloud, and has labored with us since 1997.  We were married in May of 2001, and were sent to St. Cloud that summer.

We purchased a duplex in St. Cloud where we rented to young people and students, while we did the ministry at St. Cloud State.  Our house provided us with a platform for hospitality and ministering to people, and it provided us with financial support.

Since that time, our family has grown.  We have two disciples, Linnea and Lily.  Linnea is 4 1/2  and Lily is 2 1/2 year old.

From July 2005-August 2006 we relocated to Costa Rica to help out Comunidad Cristiana Maranatha Ministry with our Ministry of Helps team.  It is  a church/campus house that ministers to the students at the University of Costa Rica. There are pictures in Costa Rica Missions Trip Tab at the top of this page. It was a life changing experience and one that we are very grateful for. Please continue to pray for the CCM Ministry.

Since returning from Costa Rica, we had been residing in Sartell, MN while helping a friend with her business. It was great to reconnect with our friends and family for a season and also a wonderful time of rest. In May a job opportunity opened up in Georgia and we felt the Lord lead us to make the big move to Georgia. All the doors were opened for every facet of the job and living situation so we are very excited about the great things that the Lord will be continuing to do in our lives. We ask you to please continue to pray for us while we are settling in our new home and work in Georgia.
